Re: Upgrading Forum

Yeap, I don't really like that either. I guess one will get used to it, but maybe it's an easy CSS change to just get them on the LHS of the message. I think it's better to see the avatar of the person before you read their message (i.e. going form left to right), sure the name is there in text on t...

Re: Upgrading Forum

Hi Fab! It's nice to see some new messages, makes the upgrade worth while. :) You had done some Zzap website stuff in Ruby and Rails a few years ago didn't you and then converted back to PHP? I'm at the start of doing the ZzapBible V2 in RoR to keep my hand in RoR since I got made redundant from my ...

Re: Upgrading Forum

Indeed, it's easy until something goes wrong, but at least there is plenty of information out there related to it, although I eventually solved the issue all by myself so that was good for the ego. :)

Re: Upgrading Forum

Proper Zzap! logo is back on the top, along with link to the main site. So I think that's the visual stuff done.

Now to fix the email sending stuff since I think people probably can't reset their password as it stands, which isn't good.

Re: Upgrading Forum

Well, that's the front page fixed up. A bit more to do than I thought, but nothing too mad. Nothing like editing a live page with errors showing all the place! :-D

Re: Upgrading Forum

Well.... it seems to be done. The forum is up and I'm logged in! The front page of the site is dead with the PHP upgrade, but that should be easy enough to fix, I just have to put an extra i in front of the database module. Hopefully, uploading attachments and avatars and the like still work. I'll d...

Re: Upgrading Forum

Well, I have spent all day on this... As I said in the previous message, it worked the first time last night but when trying today with more up to date data it's didn't work the 2 to 10 or more times, trying various slightly different things.. until I thought about what was different about the first...

Re: Upgrading Forum

Well I tried a live transfer and update tonight but got some errors related to templates, so I may not have done all the steps correctly.

I'll try again tomorrow night...

Re: Upgrading Forum

Well, I tried a number of times to upgrade the board over the past couple of years and never got passed the time outs. Recently I have been setting up a Ruby on Rails server on Digital Ocean and the thought stuck me, that I could set up a LAMP server and transfer over the backed up forum to that, fi...

Re: ZZAP site URL

Em, I wonder if my submission did the trick (it was quick if so) or just co-incidence.

Anyway, good that it's not being blocked and even better that there was no malware either!

Re: ZZAP site URL

Did you whitelist the site or is AVAST just not blocking the site any more? (Hopefully the latter) :)

Re: ZZAP site URL

I have submitted the site to https://www.avast.com/en-us/false-posit ... e-form.php so let's see if anything comes of that.

What message does AVAST say exactly when you try to visit the site with it running?

Re: ZZAP site URL

Norton doesn't have a problem with it. I am also downloading the whole site and scanning it, just to make sure nothing nasty has been added to it. So many files with dates of 20+ years ago! :-D --update-- Norton and Malwarebytes didn't find anything in the files, so that's great. I'll see if there i...

Re: ZZAP site URL

Google doesn't mark it when searching for zzap64 through them.

I also checked the URL at virustotal.com and all packages come back with clean for the zzap64.co.uk URL, so that's good. AVAST doesn't seem to be on their list.

I still have more checking to do...

Re: ZZAP site URL

Thanks for the info guys. I'll look into it. Hopefully the site hasn't gotten infected. I'll check that on my Windows partition with Norton.
