After a bit of detective work, I've sussed out that this man of mystery is none other than Steve Jarrat.Consider the facts: Yossarian has a sound knowledge of the history of Zzap and has indeed worked there. So has Steve Jarrat. Yossarian is also posting on the Edge message boards, hinting that he has a connection to Edge too. Steve Jarrat started the magazine (as editor in chief) and is coming back for a few issues to co-edit it. He has also contributed pieces to the magazine from time to time during its long run (Happy 100th, Edge, by the way). Since Lloyd Mangram was just the then-editor writing under a fictional name, logic would didctate that at one time Steve Jarrat was Lloyd Mangram. Lloyd Mangram made an appearance in Edge 100, which Yossarian urged everyone to buy. Furthermore, Yossarian has posted on this board saying that he writes under pen names. So, Yossarian = Steve Jarrat. QED. Yossarian, please please tell me I'm right. If need be I'll take a job at Edge in order to hush it all up. :) - Gazunta www.gazunta.com

Guess & hope you're right Gazunta! By the way, Steve Jarrat was my fave reviewer! Gordon Houghton says on the Burrow that SJ was one of the funniest people he ever met. So I'm quite curious. I hope he knows we (on this board) are still huge Zzap-addicts! We'll see!

So who are you then Gazunta?!!Still not ebtirely convinced about Steve being Yossa, as I havent seen him around any of the C64/Zzap! boards, though on the other hand, you could be right! |

Nice reasoning... but no, I'm not Steve Jarratt. Like I said, I'm no-one interesting. I did write for ZZAP! 64, and I'm still writing for games magazines. Yossarian |

So why don't you come clean about who you supposedly ARE then? All this secrecy smells of bullshit. I know that Zzap dabbled in encouraging misconception (ie. Lloyd Mangram), but if you really are a computer journalist, post this 'quite lengthy and interesting post' you've being promising. Or are you getting a pervy kick out of keeping people people guessing? (fair enough if you are) |

Hey... steady on Andy1, this Yossarian Lark is the most interesting thing to hit these boards in ages. So what if he doesn't tell us who he is, its kinda fun trying to find out, and if its all BS, so what again... its providing some degree of entertainment around here! |

Stop drooling guys! (once again) Let's not make this guy more important than life! Gee, I'm quite curious myself too...but hey, if THIS is 'computer-journalism', than I'm Lloyd Mangram! Cool down, we'll wait for the BIG BANG. (or not) Rob |

hmmm, your tone is something I was hoping not to see around these parts. I'd rather see posts like Yossa's than ones with the tone of yours. Lighten up Sheesh! |
