Hi, I'm planning to get up the reviews from zzap in text format on the site.

Since you can see the original design and graphics on the scans, the html versions are basically going to be straight text with one screenshot (from Gamebase hopefuly).

The information I want to have is

Name, Issue, Page, Intro, ReviewerName1, ReviewerText1, ReviewerName2, ReviewerText2, ReviewerName3, ReviewerText3, Ratings

The design I'm thinking about is the title and company etc on top. With the left 1/3 of the page containing the reviewers comments and the rest of the right of the page containing the intro/info on the game and at the bottom the rating box with all the percentages and comments.

Obviously this is all going to be in a database so it'll be as easy as possible to add new reviews with the least amount of time/effort possible.

There's over 2000 reviews in all of the zzaps so it would probably take me about 10 years to do them all myself, so I NEED YOUR HELP!!!

Ideally you want to use some OCR software and if possible the use of a scanner and access to the original zzap issues.

To make the OCR almost perfect you need to work on a very clear large page scan (much bigger than the one's available on this site), so they'd be too big to send via email and that would take more time as well.

Of course, you could always just type the text from the page yourself if you want to just send in one or two reviews.

Seems like a mad idea getting all the reviews in text format, but so was the idea of all the scanned issues online too!

If you want to help, send a mail to reviews@zzap64.co.uk and I'll set up a mailing list to keep in contact.

Comments and ideas etc. are welcome here as well of course, what do you think of the idea?
