Ciaran Brennan Love Triangle

Post by Fiery Phoenix »

Cannot for the life of me remember if I posted this on the old site before the message were lost, anyhow.........

Does anyone think it strange that in issue 36 Ciaran Brennan is pictured on page 109 snogging Glenys Powell - then the vey next issue he has gone?? I wonder when exactly did Jazza hook up with her? Was she playing behind Ciaran's back and he found out? Could he no longer work with his ex flirting outrageously in front of him with his work collegaue?

Or am I reading too much into this?

You're reading too much into it...

However there was a 'Newsfield Groupie' but I won't say anymore, as it might embarass ex-Newsfield people who hang around here at times! (There is at least one photo of her in an issue of ZZAP!).

Talking of Glenys Powell, she later married JR but they got divorced a couple of years ago after seven years of marriage. :(

Don't be cruel!!!

Which issue???

If I was guessing, got to be the first 24 issues, maybe even the first 20. Those issues always seemed to have a lot of girls in them from the trade shows in the News Flash and Shadow Spiel sections.

It was in the first couple of years (can't remember the issue number) - That's all I will say - Oh, and it wasn't one of the PR girlies! :)

As I'm flicking through the Zzap's again, I am still intrigued by this.

Issue 26 - editorial confirms Julian Ringall is engaged to Glenys Powell

Issue 31 - page 109 shows the Editor Ciaran Brennan kissing Glenys Powell on the lips

Issue 32 - Ciaran Brennan leaves and is replaced by Julian Riganll as Editor

Given magazine schedules, it could be that the paintball trip happened a few months earlier...

Agreed, but it then meant she moved pretty fast from CB to JR and had a really fast engagement if we presume the paintball article was prior to issue 26.

Can't remember seeing any letters in the issues about it but i'm sure some readers would have noticed it.
