Oddly enough, I've just read confirmation of the Mayor thing over at the Friendsreunited website, which for want of anything better to do I joined tonight. It was a post from Sally Newman, wife of Kidd:
Lots of memories of Newsfield, some sour but many happy ones. In the early days it was just great fun - like being on holiday and doing someone a favour.
Also happy memories of some good friends made in Bath.
Now living back in Ludlow, married with 2 boys.
Have exchanged emails with some names I remember, but so many names have been added since I first joined - if anyone wants to catch up I'd love to hear from you.
PS - Those of you who remember Graeme Kidd (my other half) may like to share this giggle - as of May this year he is Mayor of Ludlow!

So there you go.

And give you the keys to the city of Ludlow? i.e. give you the honour of becoming a citizen of Ludlow? :)

Dunno. Ludlow looks a bit dull to me, not?
It's obvious that Newsfield still rulez Ludlow btw, heheh.

Would be neat if Chris from CGE UK could arrange a Newsfield stand and invite ex-staff and reviewers to pose there, and talk about the company and the mags etc.
Oli could draw rapid sketches for money, and we could be introduced to Thalamus books latest productions. (presenting the book 'The Art of Oliver Frey' for example - he could even sign them there)

Oh well, I keep on dreaming... :)

I guess I'm going to make a trip to Ludlow this summer/autumn. 8)

Interesting. I might have to join you on that. It is a very beautiful / interesting town, but probably a little "boring". I really liked it though. I remember chilling by the river, reading and watching a woman feed the ducks! :)

'Treasure Hunt' did a programme years ago, where Anneka Rice was running around in Ludlow, looking for a clue. She actually run down King Street but I couldn't see the ZZAP! offices... :(

(This was whilst ZZAP! was still in production, BTW)

Sadly not!

The editions weren't numbered on-screen and I imagine it would be hard to find any on the 'net (unless there is an avid Anneka Rice fan somewhere (though she was 'arse of the year' or something!)).

You mean, something like this?

Shame on you for not believing the Internet has everything on it! ;-)

Anyway, it was series 3, episode 8! :-D See below (and the link above)

Shropshire 14 Feb 1985 Burford House Gardens; The Feathers Hotel, Ludlow; Stokesay Castle; Acton Scott Working Farm; Wistanstow.

Pictures, moving images that's what we want!
Btw, 14 Feb 1985 that's obviously pre-Zzap! days, so no chance for sights of Gaz or Riggers crossing King st.
