Wish someone (Roger Kean?) had a copy of Issue 17...

The only way to ever be sure about the existance of things is to check all the possible paths. The people who took over the building/machines, management people from them days etc.

I wouldn't mind putting the effort in to try, even though it could very likely end up fruitless. The chance of finding a full issue 17 on a hard drive somewhere would always be worth it :)

It can be pretty draining though .. like with US Gold's Murder!... i've pretty much exhausted all the possible routes with this one. Unless Bob Armour actually answers his emails, this one is lost :(

If I'd have known there would be so much interest, I'd have spirited away the dummy before I left the office for the last time as Impact collapsed... :(

The machines we used to produce CF were taken to Macclesfield and used by Europress. You can bet they'd have had their hard drives wiped clean before being used again. Also, as you'd expect, they're way out of date now - I was using a Mac Classic at the time. Unless someone at Europress collected antique computers, they'd have been thrown in the skip years ago. Finding Issue 17 after all these years would involve a major archaeological dig at a landfill site and forensic-level investigation of several hard drives, if they're even intact.

Sounds like a challenge!
Come on Frank, show us what you are made of.

If anyone can, Frank Can, although it does seem like a tricky task to say the least!

Was Roger involved in the day to day running at all at that stage?

No, not at all, and he resigned a few days before Impact closed anyway, so he wasn't even there at the very, very end.

Sounds like thats it then :)

But Mark does possibly still have stuff on the magazine :) ... though he's never got back to me on it. Sounds like he is understandably busy though! :)
