Julian Rignall interview

Post by LeeT »

Dave 'Gamesanimal' Perry has interviewed Jaz Rignall - Not much mention of Newsfield or ZZAP! sadly, but Paul Glancey gets a mention!

You can find the interview here

(note - There are problems with the web page using Firefox).

EDIT - Blimey! You wait ages for a JR interview and two come along immediately - The long-awaited other one is here

Good interview,

But read some of the links after that and it's such a truism that history is recorded by those at the forefront.

I must have been off poorly on all these wacky days of joviality and fun-filled trips to the pub with the Mean Machines crew!

Sounds like he hasn't changed his personality anyway! :)
I wonder what kind of stuff he plays when he DJ's? If he still has the mullet, maybe he plays 80's soft rock?

Must admit that reading about him lurking in forums makes me wonder if 'So Long Ago' (mysterious forumite who won't reveal their identity) is Mr Rignall? :?

I always liked Jaz's ZZAP! reviews as he knew what a good arcade game was and always said it as it was.

Interesting interviews, even if Zzap isn't mentioned much, especially in the first one. His time at WalkMart sounds exactly like what you would expect working with a large retailer :(

what i've read is largely someones fond memories anyway, bit of the way off the actualite as regards the happy-go-lucky cool lads on his console mags.

It always puzzled me when I heard that he went to work for Wal-Mart as I thought it was an unusual career move - Though I suppose if he needed a job in a hurry and was interested in marketing then...
