...while I drink my Mars bar...
my keyboard's melting and the keys are sticking to my fingertips...
in other words:
IT'S QUITE HOT OVER HERE!

This must be the reason no-one's posting these days, or is everyone at the beach?

This situation calls for a special summer topic, like:
How did you get your copy of Zzap while you were out on vacation?
Or: to which exotic countries did you take your Zzaps?

You know what? I'm posting them right away, yeehaa!

'Warm' regards,
ROb

*You're* hot? Then consider this:

1. The fat is literally melting from my body and draining into an old vegetable oil bottle at my feet. I plan to use it to cook my chips this winter.
2. I couldn't move yesterday, for fear that I would evaporate.
3. I had a barbecue last night, using my head as the grill.
4. It's so hot, even the Phoenixes are complaining.
5. Did I mention it was hot?
6. The trains aren't running on time here because the lines are too hot. (Nah, that can't be true -- it's too implausible. ;) )

Well a reporter from the Guardian managed to fry on egg outside terminal 1 in Heathrow yesterday.

My CPU (AMD 2000+) is getting quite hot as well, around 61c, I think it only starts melting around 90c!! :-o

Was about to say we're going off topic again but it's in idle banter so let's idle away!

Poor babies. It's been 12C - 17C here all "summer", and mostly raining, so think yourselves lucky.

Hey, don't you complain -- I've seen the photos on your site, and you live in a *gorgeous* country. You won't find many glaciers in Oxfordshire. :)

Well, we're only here for another three weeks...

I know it's a lovely country here, but it's kind of depressing when it's cold and rainy pretty much _every_ day in July, and when the only time you see sun is between 10pm and 2am (when you're thinking it might be a good idea to get some sleep, but can't).

I think the winter was actually easier to deal with (ironically). Lots of snow, but sunny a lot of the time. I like the sun, apparently! :)

Do they not have S.A.D. tents over there? When I worked in Stockholm a few years ago, during the winter you got about 4.5 minutes of sun (on a good day) but in a shopping center in the center of town they had this tent you could go into, which was BRIGHTLY lit and had benches to sit on, so you could get your quota of bright light and be happy for the rest of the day 8-)

I don't know about such tents. However, as I said, the winter was actually quite sunny. Daylight is less than the UK (from about 11:30am to 4pm at its worst) but it was often dry and bright, albeit with a load of snow everywhere.

In the summer there's 24/7 daylight during June and July, and even now it's only getting dark(ish) at about 11pm. However, it's just been really gloomy for most of the summer - a shame.

Needless to say I'll mention it was 40C+ every day I was in Vegas.... ouch!

Yeap Vegas is a killer, even at 1am it's still really humid and still to hot for shorts and t-shirt. Luckily the casinos are nicely air-conditioned, even more reason to never leave them 8-)

You really should curb that gambling addiction, Mayhem ;)

Well he needs it to pay for that C65 on eBay! ;-)

Vegas is actually very dry if you think about it... Florida by comparison due to the humidity, even in the 80s is far, far worse :?

As for the C64, sadly I didn't win it, was outbid. Even so, the reserver still wasn't made in the end, so the guy was just overpricing it. A grand is now about the going rate for the machine which is roughly what I bid...

While I drink *another* Mars bar...
and try to get my kids asleep while they float out of their beds...
it's ridiculously hot over here!
