New sid chip, please help.

Please could somebody techy help me? The sid chip in two of my old 64's have both finally given up the ghost, can I replace them, if so where can I get new chips? If this topics been covered elsewhere sorry!

Well others may have more experieince of this, but new SID chips are very hard to get hold of these days, you may have to buy a complete C64 to get at a working chip.

Do a search on google and see what you come up with, some retro place might have a couple for sale.

Thanks for helping, I guess I could just use an emulator and forget my old machines but its no quite the same. I will keep on looking for those chips.

Ask around if there's any local retro collectors. People like me have a basket of old C64's and plenty broke and just kept for spares that they'd give free to agood home!
