game controllers

ive just went out and purchased a game controller for the pc, ive opened it and realised its usb. can this be used to play my c64 emulator? i cant figuire out how to do it!
any help appreciated!

should be mate - all my game controllers are uSB - recently purchased a USB Competition Pro as wel
If you are using VICE - just select Settings / Joystick Settings and click the joystick in port 2 tab - should have all your recognised USB controllers in here.
You PC should auto recognise it as soon as you plug it in
vice?

Does that have micro switched fire buttons on it?
Would be sweet if one could get it working on the Xbox. Don't suppose Xbox Vice has drivers for it...
