Hi there All,

My first post on the forum, been meaning to join for some time.

Anyway got a question does anyone have an idea of the monthly circulation numbers of ZZAP? I remember Crash breaking through the 100,000 mark in 1986, wonder what ZZAP peaked at and when.
:?:

They used to publish the ABC figures until around issue 50, guess they started going down and it wasn't such good advertising.

IIRC (which I probably don't) it reached a max of around 80,000.

Did (does) ABC only record sales? I know at least 4-5 other people read my copy of ZZAP! It's probably more than advertised if counting *all* readers of *all* ZZAP!'s bought...

Just had a look through my ZZAPs only got the first 77 (missing 3 though). But here are some ABC figures from the credit column usually on page 3. (I asume these figures are monthly averages?)

Issue 13 (May 1986) - JUL-DEC 1985: TOTAL = 42,973, UK = 40,603
Issue 19 (Nov 1986) - JAN-JUN 1986 : TOTAL= 59,356, UK = 54,399
DUNNO WHAT HAPPENED TO JUL-DEC 1987
Issue 30 (Oct 1987) - JAN-JUN 1987: TOTAL = 77,483 UK/EIRE= 63,809
Issue 38 (Jun 1988) - JUL -DEC 1987: TOTAL = 82,933 UK/EIRE= 64,110

So Iain your memory does serve you well.

Andy, think I'm the only person who read mine but I take your point actual readership could be well in excess of these figures.
