For the ones that I recognise, I'd have to take Zzap's side on them. What were C= Format thinking for some of them!

Format had exclusives on Catalypse and Rugby: The World Cup, so maybe it was hype?

They seemed to like their hype all right. Either that or brown envelopes... but I doubt companies would have been bothered for C64 games at that late stage ;-)

I was a Format fan near the end of Zzap!'s life and always thought that Zzap!'s scoring was wrong. :evil:

Looking at things now I realised that Format got it wrong more than Zzap!. Though we have to remember that is still someone's opinion. Also Commodore Force wasn't that bad, quite good actually. Zzap! needed a huge revamp as I stopped buying it until Force came along.

It seems that multiple reviewers on one game has more chance to get it right than the majority of other magazines who had one reviewer on a game.

One game's score I still think was dodgy and influenced by outside influences was Hawkeye. Good game but not Gold Medal good. LOL. :D
