Zzap podcast
Zzap podcast
Just wondering if anyone has ever thought of doing a Zzap 64 podcast. I have listened to a few podcasts about T.V shows where they go through each episode give an overview then discuss the episode. I think this could work well for Zzap.

Re: Zzap podcast
An intriguing idea. There's a thread on a certain Spectrum forum where people are replaying games from the first issue of Crash. A combined podcast/YouTube series looking back at ZZAP in a similar way would be fun.
Re: Zzap podcast
A round table type approach with people going through each issue could be pretty interesting, either just audio or YouTube with someone turning the page of each magazine. Actually the video approach would probably be better so people could see what page we are talking about.
Would be kinda cool to get Roger etc. on-board for the first couple of issues...

That is indeed a good idea. Sounds like a plan to me.

Listening to the first episode now, but only a few minutes in so can't pass any judgement yet. Thought the line "the late, great Oliver Frey" surprised me!!

They admitted on another forum that they mixed up Oli with Bob Wakelin, who sadly did pass away a couple of years ago.

Good to know they have been educated!
I'm about half way through now. It's quite a good one. They don't like the games so far too much, but games from 1985 have a harder time of standing up today compared to ones from the late 80's I feel.
They just focus on the games, no real mention of the magazine apart from it's the base where they get the games to talk about from.
It feels like it could do with a video to at least show the games they are talking about...... but then it might just seem like another walk through type thing.
The banter is good. Doesn't feel too dry or formal, which is great.

The mispronunciation of Tír na nÓg is a bit annoying, but everybody across the pond probably pronounces it that way. I know Roger did.
It's - Tier naaaaa nooog
For anyone really interested (!!) there are audio bits on this page:
