Could someone please tell me what the flip this is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... :B:SS:US:1
I especially like the generosity of the whole deal... and I'm stunned they have Search for Sharla working...
Emulator stuuf? PC ports? Comments?

It's probably a C64 emulator with a bunch of disk images. Sharla was never finished, so unless someone's written it themselves, the person running that auction is a lying bastich.

Search on eBay for a long barge pole, and then don't touch that Thalamus auction with it

What? apart from paying $16.99 for 16 game images?
Note all his T&C at the bottom, eg "Cover illustration for description purposes only and may not be actual cover" or some such rubbish.

Try asking them for a screenshot of Sharla to see what the game looks like....
EDIT... Ok, have done just that. It's got Search For Sharla on the cover case.. but we'll see.
The guy is selling a Dizzy compilation too... :-/... should he be reported? (Of course, after i've had my proof of Sharla being a sham!
)

Unsurprisingly... they couldn't offer me a screenshot. And I was hoping they'd send me one of the scans from GTW

Well you might as well report him then, or tell Roger about it and let him report him to eBay.. I guess Roger still has the rights to Thalamus stuff.
It's amazing that the ISPA gets its knickers in a twist about websites offering ROMS for download but doesn't seem to do a thing about people actually making money off these games by selling them on ebay or through a certain website that advertised through google.

Just done so. Lets see what happens.
Have you noticed also that there are loads of different copies on Ebay, all from various sellers?... something smells bad here...

Well, that'll be one person buying it, feeling ripped off and trying to get their money back by selling a copy.

It's actually a sell-through auction - the seller puts the auction online, but the goods are shipped by a wholesale company.

They have plenty of retro CDs they're flogging through Ebay, and in the case of the Thalamus titles, I know that what they're doing is VERY illegal.
They'll be getting a cease and desist email from me shortly.

As they should, I wonder if any of the stuff they sell is legal?
