Mort and I were chatting to Gary Liddon a bit at BIT and he expressed an interest in writing something for issue 108!

He was quite entusiastic about it actually so we should be able to wrestle an article or two out of him! :)

Excellent news.

For anyone who wants to pursue him further on this issue, he goes by the name of "lardygaz" on the Llamasoft forum. Nice guy. And he likes Laurel and Hardy. And he's shit hot at Stargate (compared to me, anyway)

There was a few photos in a ZZAP! feature, where he looked like a young Elvis!

Well, could be, but now he looks like the 'old' Elvis, except for the sideburns, that is. :)

Well he's not lardy anymore! He looked quite different compared to a couple of years ago at BIT1.

Remember me pointing him out to you Iain?

He's a great bloke and I had a nice chat to him and his lady, she said he likes talking about Zzap! and stuff :)

Gordon--WHERE WERE YOU THIS TIME?

We'll have to use subversive means to get your address and physically drag you along to the next BIT! 8-)

I've got the address, so all we need's a team to drag him along to...well, let's just hope it's not in Brighton again!

I wondered if that was him! And I seem to remember the ZZAP! lads of his era had a Stargate machine in the office, which would explain those ridiculously good scores he was putting us all to shame with....

I know. I really struggled with Stargate, and then he comes along and idly gets over 100K...

The stargate machine was in Gary Penn's/Liddon's flat above the Old Fire Station in Old Street and yes they did play it a lot. The machine belonged to Penn but I can't remember what ultimately happened to it. I also seem to remember them playing Drop Zone a lot as well both on the C64 and the Atari (it was better on the Atari IMHO)
