Maybe he could come out of semi retirement for 108 when it happens (never say never)

It just seems that he is either jealous or looking down on the supplement with the arrogance of 'Well it's not ZZAP!'. Calling it 'self indulgent' is a bit puzzling. Also complaining that Chris Anderson plugged his website in the interview is a little strange.CraigGrannell wrote:Yeah, well, there'll always be some who don't like things like the DEF Tribute (it's not like 100 per cent of the feedback to #107 was positive).
I think he probably had a couple of concepts which sounded really good when he was constructing them in his head, but he should have abandoned them before he pressed the Submit button. "Self-indulgent" is an easy criticism to throw at anyone or anything at any time, so it doesn't really mean anything, and then he tried to defend it by sidestepping the argument, which was a bit silly. And I was amazed Rob got Chris Anderson to respond at all -- kudos to our zany 'n' wacky Dutch friend for that one, I say.LeeT wrote:It just seems that he is either jealous or looking down on the supplement with the arrogance of 'Well it's not ZZAP!'. Quite surprised at you guy's "considered" response.. if I'd spent that long producing something of that quality, and then got RG to produce it, then I would probably have been somewhat more "colourful" in my response!LeeT wrote:Looks like someone is having a moan about non-Newsfield people (ie us!) reviewing games, over at retro gamer's forum.
He obviously didn't read my first answer clearly, which explained why we are reviewing the games, then tries to backtrack in his next comment!
Well he is entitled to his opinion - But the points he raised were petty, in my opinion (about no Jaz and Chris' website) and calling it self-indulgent. However he seems to be in the minority - even Speccy owners seem to like it!Quite surprised at you guy's "considered" response.. if I'd spent that long producing something of that quality, and then got RG to produce it, then I would probably have been somewhat more "colourful" in my response!
