Why Only Downvotes?

Doesn't anybody think that I'm right in that answer to a question regarding comments on Questions & Answers site?
I think that comments suck, and that the only thing I deserve for my answers is upvotes.
I don't need any comments showing no appreciation for the time and efforts expended on giving a good answer.
That's it! I'm about to quit a job that pays with upvotes.
And I hope to get some upvotes on my opinion.
