How could anything yellow and bent be banal? Potatoes are banal...

Spuds can come in some interesting sizes you know!!!

Bananas are generally just bent and I am not referring to their sexuality, that is their business!! 8-)

OK, so it wasn't funny... Or shall I assume you lot (those who didn't vote/reply) don't care about bananas?

*Caanan* Banana, that is; not that that makes it any less funny. ;)

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned, bananas are masters of the universe and the yellowest thing in my house.

Canaries are quite yellow, too. But we don't have a canary.

I notice you skilfully side-stepped the issue of whether or not you have any BANANAS in your house!

Ha ha ha haha ha ha ha haha ha ha ha... er... ha.

[coughs discreetly, and exits].

...And on a side issue, I notice you've sneaked one post ahead of me! I shall have my revenge! (Or I'll make some more posts.)

We do have five bananas in the house, but they're more brown than yellow. Time for a baking, methinks.

I, too, shall have my revenge. With a kiwi. Or something. No, really. Burble burble.

I've put together my Xmas tribute to bananas. Hope you like it.

(to the tune of Happy Xmas/War Is Over by John Lennon)

So it?s bananas
They?re quite good for you
Eat some this Christmas
The fun starts in the loo
You go to the toilet
You?re bursting to go
You get this sensation
That you don?t want to know

(Chorus)
Constipation Central!
It?s a pain in the a**
Too many bananas
Means hard stools to pass

And so it?s bananas
The perils are clear
To take in moderation
Throughout the year
There are those that overdo it
They ignore the advice
They have too many
The result isn?t nice

(Chorus)
Constipation Central!
It?s a pain in the a**
Too many bananas
Means hard stools to pass

And so it?s bananas
There?s more to come
They?re used in comedy
In sitcoms long gone
The skin of the banana
Without the white bits
Was used frequently
For comedy skits

(Chorus)
Constipation Central!
It?s a pain in the a**
Too many bananas
Means hard stools to pass

Pain is over, if you want
Pain is over now

Happy Xmas

Paul

and a (somewhat belated) happy xmas back 8)

thanks for the lennonesque christmas banana btw, even though it was totally rotten.

well one bananology on this is that the main 'real' issue our little yellow friends do have is that their skins are genuIne slip hazards...so far i have been spared of this embarrassment as well as the physical injury that they are so capable of causing.

food scientists should now (safely) try to genetically modify the banana to make it slip-proof, or better still make the skin edible.

it would be one (non-slip) step closer towards world peace.

btw...bananas are not necessarily yellow...ever tried eating a green one? Image

(revamped lyrics to the tune of imagine...original words & music by a certain mr j lennon)

Verse:
imagine no bananas
i wonder if you can
no skins below us
but no banana flan

Pre-chorus:
imagine all the people
living life in...ludlow (ooh ooooh)

Chorus:
well i may...diss the banana
but i'm not the only one
i hope someday...you'll join us
(in) banana pie...for ev'ryone!

Banana is working on his music career now, and was guest producer on Gwen Stefani's recent single Hollaback Girl. Hence the refrain:

It's BANANAS
B - A - N - A - N - A - S

It's BANANAS
B - A - N - A - N - A - S

When I used to read ZZAP as a kid, I never knew what "banal" meant. Nowadays I just hate banana's - the look, the smell, yuck...
