Scans of Commodore User issue one

Post by Iain »

Just a little teaser, Mort is sending me the scans of the first issue of Commodore User and they'll hopefully be up on this web site tonight or tomorrow.

I'll post further details here.

The scans are being uploaded as I type.

I had to rewrite the script to allow the CU scans to live in harmany with the Zzap ones, but all should be working now.

However, the downloadable Decrypt program I have does not work with the CU scans at the moment, so you'll have to put up with weird encrypted filenames. Watch this space for an update of that program.

Get the scans here

http://www.zzap64.co.uk/cgi-bin/display ... agazine=cu

p.s. I have upped the 4 hour download limit from 50 to 80 scans so you can get the whole issue if need be.

Enjoy! I'm looking forward to reading it myself, lots of techy info in it! :)

Hi Iain. hi Mort!
Awesome stuff!
I have most CU's between 1986/1990, but I never saw the 84/85 ones.
So this is really a VERY welcome addition to c64's magazine history.
Oh man, you both rule!

Funny/weird:
On the bottom of page 3 (CU issue 1) there's this line:
"Publisher's guarantee: There are no mistakes in this magazine except this one."
Did you see it?
Is there a story behind that, or is it typical English humour?
Ta!

Yeah, I didn't really get that, I didn't notice an error in that line either.?!

Maybe 'the error' to mention there's no error?

So the error was to mention an error when there was no error to actually become an error? &-)
