Magra 64 - Was it actually released?

Post by alexhighnumber »

Can anyone help with some information for my mastertronic site and a guy called Dimitris who is particularly keen on finding an answer to this puzzle.

Dimitris found and mailed me the following article from ZZAP May 1985:

--------------------
Magra 64 arrives
Mastervision, a subsidiary of Mastertronics, have just brought out Wrath of Mangra for £12.50. This is a real blockbuster of a game that comes in four parts and should keep you struggling against the forces of evil for weeks on end. Meanwhile, Black Crystal, an earlier Carnell game that forms part of a series with Volcanic Dungeon and Magra, is available for £3.99.
--------------------

Now, although announced, does anyone know was this game ever actually released?

Its listed at Gamebase, though they don't seem to have it, so (I guess) that it is classed as being missing?

Maybe Anthony Guter knows something about it?....

Well I've just checked and he does have an article that mentions it on his site so maybe he would. I'll give him a mail anyhow to see if he recalls anything.

OK Anthony's pretty much just confirmed it - although it made a limited release on Spectrum, there never was a C64 release because of Carnell's financial troubles.
