Might as well pitch in with my own best of - in no particular order

Head Over Heels
Great Escape
Bruce Lee
Frankie Goes to Hollywood
Thrust
Great Giana Sisters

There were loads of good games on the C64 that I thought were top notch at the time - but I look back when I play them on the emulators and they are cack! I still play the above games on an emulator and I feel they stand the test of time - your talking 20 years on some of them and they have lost none of there playability.

Some other games worth a mention:

GoGo the Ghost
Skooldaze
Bounder
Spellbound
Zolyx
The Captive ( still can`t complete it! )

Hi folks!
There are quite some games that I play today (emulated or for real) that rarely get high into 'the charts', or appear at all.
Like:
Rocketball (unbeatable!)
Bounces
Hunter's Moon
Matchday II
Skooldaze
Football Manager (blush)

Try them out!

Others are more common:
Head over Heels & Wizball

Ta!

A very contentious topic and having scanned through some of the entries i cannot believe any of Andrew Braybrook's classics have not been mentioned. Paradroid - surely one of the greatest games of all time (one i would dearly love to see updated for today's systems). Played it on a GP32 i had a couple of years back but found the emulation a little glitchy. You'll notice my list features a few of the games from Zzap's "Diary of a Game" series. I guess i found myself captivated by the development process (games designers were gods then but today many are faceless unsung heroes, apart from a select few!) Anyway, i could ramble on for ages but the subject is 10 best games so here's mine for what it's worth...

1. Paradroid (you knew that was coming didn't you!)
2. Uridium (Slick or what?!)
3. Morpheus (Paid £60 on eBay for the disk version of this)
4. Citadel
5. Theatre Europe
6. The Last Ninja (Still listen to the music now)
7. IK+
8. Galaxy (Dont laugh - it looked shite but played like a dream!)
9. Park Patrol (The best £2 i ever spent)
10. Up 'n Down

Honourable mentions must also go to Spy Hunter, Delta, Wizball, Elite (though i was never any good at it!), Mercenary, Impossible Mission, BC's Quest for Tyres. With so many great games you just can't nail it down that easy. God i wish i was 12 again!

A bit biased here, me thinks?

10. Montezumas Revenge
WOT!?

To brad G as well: gentlemen, where is Hunter's Moon!? :D

What wot?
Montezuma's Revenge is a critics darling, a cult little game, and it also belongs to GH's top 10. It made it in the top 50 for Zzap! #107, too.
