Don't know if this has been asked before but what was your first game?

Mine was International Soccer. It came on cartridge with the C64.
Probably after that it was some dodgy Mastertronic game. Either Chiller or Spooks, I can't remember which.

My first game was international soccer as well for the exact same reason. It came with the machine. I'm pretty sure "impossible mission" was the game I played next though. When my mate saw impossible mission, he went out and bought the game the next day.. oh he bought a C64 to go with it (he even went to the counter with the game, and when they said is that all? he said "oh, I'll have a C64 to go with that thanks  )

I think it was "Clowns" on cartridge. It probably arrived at the same time as my mate got his C64.

I assume we are talking about C64 first game? If not it was probably an Atari 2600 game, something like Combat or Pacman... Again at the same friend's house!

My first game was Rambo 2, and was bought 2 months after my parents bought me the new flashy CBM128D. I had never played a computer game before and was trying to program my own games.

After loading Rambo2 and watching this marvellous loading screen (which I made into a poster recently and have it in my office, and another one with the green colour my Hantarex monitor produced) I was simply astounded...!

However the tiny sprites took my excitement away, I was thinking that games were like Doom, which of course had not been invented back then.

The only game that really lived up to my expectations, was Defender of the Crown, a real masterpiece of programming and game design.

And yes, I got a poster of the title screen in my office, as well

LOL! Just discovered this forum so first post from me! I bought the C64 Hollywood pack which came with Top Gun, Miami Vice, Platoon, The Great Escape (I think) and Rambo First Blood Part 2.

Miami Vice was rubbish, but had great music (Galway of course) and I was too young to appreciate The Great Escape.

Platoon was superb though - amazing atmosphere, music and variety. Rambo was fun to play and also had fantastic music. Took a little while to finish them both, but definitely 2 of the better movie tie-ins!

I was also given Afterburner, Dream Warrior, Masters of the Universe and Joe Blade 2 - finished them all, but none of them were much cop!
