I have harped on about this in one of the other forums but I still cannot beat Big Burtha the Turd Level Boss from Renegade. I have been trying since I was thirteen thats twelve years, please at least somebody out there tell me whats on the levels after her, I think it might be knife fighting men. I cannot die complete without at least knowing. By the way whats happened to Jeff Minter? "Winners don't use drugs" but try playing some of his games on them, it is very recommended. Not that I am sanctioning the use of drugs, remember Narc! The Pixies covered the theme which was pretty cool. In fact what other bands were in games? I remember Frankie goes to Hollywood, I think it was impossible to become a complete human. Another one was Blade Runner, whoever made the game could not get the rights to the movie so they bought the rights to the music. Anyone remember Jerome Tel? Did the music to Kamikaze among others, I'd like to shake that mans hand.

Try these two links: one's his site, the other's a *very* friendly forum (including a retro league):

I can remember there being a Tubular Bells game based on the Mike Oldfield album back in the mid 1980`s. Betty Boo`s doin` the doo was in Magic Pockets. Snap had their hit in the puzzle game The Power. Of course there was Moonwalker the game by US Gold. All solo artists though - can`t remember any more bands - I`m sure there was a game based on a band when the Sega Mega CD first came out - can`t remember which one though.

Ehm, Back to the future, the game, doesn't it feature music from 80's popbands? Wasn't it 'the power of love' from H. Lewis & the news or something? And Johnny B good from Chuck Berry?
In Highlander you had obviously the Queen track 'a kind of magic'.
'Never ending story' from the soundtrack as sung by 'Limahl', from Kajagoogoo. (too shy, shy, hush-hush, I do I...or whatever, it's still stuck in my mind, for some unfortunate reason.)
I think there's more, although I can remember this ground being covered on the Lemon-forum.
Ta!

'Thriller' by Jacko was supposed to be in Mastertronic's 'Chiller' though it was changed when someone kicked up a fuss...

(However you can download the original 'Thriller' version from GTW!)...

I vaguely remember a Sigue Sigue Sputnik record with a spoken bit supposedly advertising a Sigue Sigue Sputnik computer game, but I think they might have been taking the piss.

There was going to be an Iron Maiden game but i don't knoe if it was made, also the megatape demo to Creatures featured a Rowland Bros. version of Hear the Drummer get Wicked. Bit off topic, what happened to the Rowland boys?

Billy Bragg's first record was called "Life's A Riot WIth Spy Vs Spy" but I think it might have been named after the comic strip that the game was based on. It came out in 1983 so would that have been too early for the game?

And of course there was the Everyone's A Wally song by Mike Berry (iirc). I also remember a news story in an early Zzap about some spurious controversy over supposed swearing in the lyrics (investigative journalism by the late Ed Banger).
