The zzap interviews are on my "to put on website at some time in the future" but I thought it a good idea to leave a good bit of time between when the mag was published and putting it up.

Maybe it was smarter to post the following message over here instead of making a new topic on General ZZap.
Since there's not a lot of response I'd place the linx over here too
(Don't kill me for rubbing it in:) )
I've uploaded all 8 pages of the Zzap!64 interview that appeared in the first Edge RETRO special back in 2002. (for those who missed it!)

This is the link:
http://www.home.zonnet.nl/zzapback/retr ... zzap_1.jpg

Just change the pagenumber in your browser, _1 to _8

ENJOY!
It's a nice read, although *some* people start swearing after reading Penn's contagious part of the interview :D

Ta!

Hey Thanx, Ant.
One of these days I'll also put up their article about the history of Computer Magazines. (I think it was issue 102) Great article about great magazines. (f.e. SuperPlay (superb mag) Crash & Zzap)

I'll let you guys know the linx as soon as I've uploaded them.
(I hope Edge won't sue me  )

Tada!

Out of interest does anyone have a link to to the zzap review of "Gertie Goose"? Just re-reading the column about the angry boss and was just wondering how bad the review was!

2 games got reviewed in issue 10 of that publisher: Reelax. (IIRC)
One of the others was "One Bite Too Deep" which got an even lower mark.
They also advertised in that particular Zzap for all their games.

Btw, I totally agree with Julian's point of view about the whole situation.
If the guy went out of business, it was not because of Zzap's low ratings but because he produced drab games!

I must admit I tried but it didn't seem to work for me so I thought maybe all of it wasn't online. Could have just done something wrong though.

Last week I got my greasy hands on Games TM issue 3 (long live ebay.co.uk!) but I have to say I was rather dissapointed with the whole 'commodore' retro section. The interview in recent issue 9 with Chris Abbott wasn't THAT special either, just as the 'reviews' of all the remix-cd's. I think they might over-estimate themselves at the moment doing that retro thing. There's not enough depth. IMHO.

Btw, I came across a couple of C+VG's from 1997 (in my archive) and they also had a special (yellow page) retro section, I totally forgot that!

I was very disappointed with the C64 audio thing. As for the "reviews", erm, 9/10 for BIT? I don't think so. It was fine for the time, but not now.

Yeah, we need someone like Edge to do a *real* retro section. ;)
