Hi,

Just come across the site as i am looking for a little more info on an early July 1983 issue of Commodore User.

Basically, I am looking to sell this and am trying to get some sort of a feel for how rare it is, and what sort of price should I sell it at.

The magazine itself is in great shape - no rips, tears, etc. Reading the editorial in the fornt, it explains what the CU magazines are going to be like. There is no issue / volume on the front, just the date, July 1983.

I can post pics if required :)

Cheers,

Andy

EDIT -----

Please note that the magazine is now up for sale on Ebay...

Interesting, does Mort have a copy of this on his CU DVD?

I'd say it'd be worth a fair amount, it's probably not as popular as Zzap's are on eBay, but considering it's an issue 0.... I dunno really.

Hi Iain,

I am a treading a little in unknown territory here as I am not traditionally a Commodore collector (I am collecting Tabletops right now).

There are a few Commodore collectors after this right now, and without wishing to sound too mercinary, I need to get as much for this as I can to fuel my tabletop habit ;)

I am sure that I can provide scans if required :)

Cheers,

Andy

Well put it up on eBay, post the link here and somewhere on lemon64.com and see what happens, an image of the front page would be interesting!

I'll get it up on Ebay tonight and will post the link as well. I hate listing things that I know nothing about :D

Well I guess that's the good thing about auctions, they reflect demand for something fairly well, instead of you trying to figure out a price to sell it for.

Guess I'll have to watch the auction then... had hoped to buy it straight off you Andy :P

I'm being stalked ;)

Heh - if you can make me an offer I can't refuse, you will save me a job :D

Ebay has its good and bad points - the main downside is that if you just leave it up to the Ebay community, you may miss those colllectors that would really like it.

As I said, I don't wish to sound like I am totally money focussed, but I had to get rid of my whole collection when I separated from my wife, and am now trying to build it back up again - expensive business :D

Perfectly understood. As I mentioned elsewhere, I'd glad take that and your Vic Computing issues from you. Only thing is the price. How many issues in total? I'm off on holiday tomorrow, but I'm sure I can communicate whilst in the US. Plus hopefully the copy of Gortek will turn up on my doorstep okay :)

Bugger,
Didn`t even know this existed, Would only take me about 2 hours to scan also doh doh and double doh , The Vic Computings would be of interest also.

I would make an offer if you could withdraw the auction and then pass the preview and the Vics to Mayhem after scanning as we could get them up on the site now we have more bandwith and space to manouvre

Or Andy, could you post the issue 0 to Mort for scanning and he'd have it back to you well in time for the end of the auction?

Got it!, should have it scanned and ready for Iain in the next week or two, Mayhem If you want it I will pass it on when its scanned and maybe we could come to some arrangement about scanning the Vics if you get those  :P

I still feel like a bit of a shitheel charging for these, but as my main focus isn't Commodore, I a) need to make room, and b) need to make some money to pay for my tabletops :D
