Post by Browncat »

Huh? your going to make a new issue of Zzap, am I right on this? Can I help? You should give away a megatape for use retro guys who still own original machines or is that just stupid? Have I used too many question marks? Have I? Should I start a poll?

Yep... Probably. There's *already* a new issue out, Zzap!#107. You can buy it and download it here . #108 would be an addition to this, and *definitely* the last one ever -- if we do it, it'll happen next year sometime.

Depends on what you can do. Make a suggestion in the appropriate topic, http://www.zzap64.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=25 , and if we like it, we'll include it.

We did this on #107 -- not an actual tape, but a downloadable file in d.64 (?I think) format, containing the Top 5 games of all time. You could, if you had the will, transfer it to a real C64 cassette -- a complicated process, but it can be done.

Choose from these answers: a) Nope. b) No. c) Definitely not. ;)

Er, 10 June 2004?

Anyone else got a random date they can pick out?

Heh Heh!

No I was just wondering as it seems to take a lot of co-ordination and I don't know if anything has firmly been agreed on?

Nothing firm yet, as far as I'm aware. We've vaguely said (if it happens at all, which seems increasingly likely), that it'll be released in 2005, and that given the amount of work in the #107 we'd all like a longer deadline this time.

I suspect what will happen is that when we get to the early part of 2004, someone will say "So -- are we doing it then, or what?" and we'll make more concrete plans.

Early 2004 sounds like a plan, a vague one anyway :) Perhaps we should have the UK zzap challenge to coincide with the next BIT which will probably be around then. I'm afraid we'll have to drag you out for that one Gordo! You can hide behind Gary L if need be! ;-)

The plan would be to release it in around May 2005, the 20th anniversary of when the first Zzap!64 appeared...
