Well, an article about the history of Commodore might be nice although most of it is already on the web.

Perhaps a more original idea might be an article about Newsfield and it's history. That might take a good bit of digging around though

Fair point that the web has already taken the hostage of the commodore history. I try and think of some way out to make its history somewhat more interesting to read.

I have an interesting article to write about: Commodore One. The next commodore computer which can be upgradable, branded as "The Reconfigurable Computer". It is not an emulation, far from it. Can I put it on the next issue?

Beck.

That's been mentioned, and I think it's definitely a must!

Hopefully a full stable version of it should be released within the next few months. An indepth of that would be very interesting, perhaps a Zzap!1 sub section with reviews of any software for it! ;-)

Well, if a 108 is really on the cards, I'd definitely be up for it, because 107 was great fun to do!

107 archive

Post by Lloyd Mangram »

Hi fellow zzaperoni's,
I don't know if it comes in handy,
but since I'm establishing myself a name in leeching  (see staff)
I'm proud to say that I 'leeched' (quite a few times) the former rrapforum around the time of the zzap107 developments. If anyone is interested in re-reading or using the old discussions & 'rules' and all that, I could put them on the board. (although it's quite extensive, but pretty interesting too, and legendary gaming HISTORY 8) )

Btw, Iain, did you archive the old rrapforum from day one?
I'd be really interested in reading some old posts.
Please tell us.

Rob

Well they should still be there, it's possible to see message from up to a year ago, so with a little hack, all the others should be viewable as well. I'll check that out later.

C69: I think I speak for most when I say we should probably ignore the C16 in general, in the same way that we should ignore the Amiga. If z108 gets off the ground there's going to be limited space, and I don't think it should go to non-C64 or Zzap!64-related stuff. The exception, of course, is the CommodoreOne, which would need some sort of coverage, perhaps an interview with its creator, along with a general overview.

Gordon: *gasp* - now Lloyd's going to be doubly hard to prise out of his cottage (unless he doesn't have Web access).

With regards to 'rules', we'll formulate some new ones, should z108 happen, which will include more than just a style guide. This time there will be implicit stuff on deadlines, saying that if you get stuff in more than a few days late, it will go to someone else... [evil cackle]

He's already lost the use of one of his limbs (re leg in combine harvester accident)!!

Anyway, he'll have trouble using his typewriter with only the use of one arm!

I'd love to get involved if I may...

....I'd really be interested in either writing some reviews of certain games (Llamasoft titles or maybe the Taskset games) and or any other content I'd be allowed to add for you guys. As I'd like to pay tribute to all the games I grew up with AND pay back for all the inspiration/ideas I still get from them all when creating design documents for the games I currently work on.

Finally, I'd like to think that we'd get the print work again, like we did for issue 107 - If you guys would be willing to accept the magazine as A5 for example, the cost would be much lower than before *and* you'd be able to double the page size of the mag without increasing the cost too much.

Maybe we could co-sponsor it?

Can discuss if interested ;)

Thanks

George :)

Definitely no way on the A5 thing - it would restrict the design too much and put it squarely in fanzine territory. If it happens, I'm sure you'll be the first people we talk to about a print version, though! :) Mind you, this time I'll talk to you lot _before_ I do the design, so I can get a better idea about cropping and so on.
