Greetings folks!!!!

For me it was Walkers Way (Cos Martin Walker took so bloody long with it) plus he dragged us into his daily life, music projects as well as Citadel.

Mental Procreation - superb
Daily Llama - Its Yak, nuff said
Diary of a Paradroid - Missed it, didnt get a 64 till 86........

Strangely enough I still read the diaries in Zzap, I've got all my old issues in my room.

Quick Hi to Gordon Houghton, I took a piccy of you at the PCW show in 1988, I still have it at home, be afraid, be VERY AFRAID!!!!!!

Cheers all!!

Mark

I reckon the Paradroid one was best by far.

I enjoyed Walker's Way the most. I wasn't expecting a great deal from it and I was pleasantly surprised.

The diary of Paradroid was entertaining, but Mental Procreation (Morpheus) was just far too heavy going and technical for me.

Mental Procreation was wonderful. I've re-read it 4 or 5 times over the years and have been able to understand the technical details more each time as I've become a more experienced programmer.

Paradroid! The original and the best!

(Hopes memory hasn't failed and there wasn't a diary before then!)

Probably Paradroid - I always found the game diaries in ZZAP! a little too dry for my liking ("Today i set a variable of 4E&F and removed the modular core chip" etc, yawn!).

I did enjoy 'Caeco's (sic?) Log' in CRASH though - It could be quite funny.

Actually, if you read Martin Walkers dairy entries, you'll find they are quite "human". Walker's Way was definitely my favourite by far.

But having said that, the diaries all had something different to offer - Paradroid was concise, Creatures was a laugh and Walker was just.... human, like I said.

Paradroid, without a doubt. There was the odd bit of over-my-head techno-speak, but the rest of it was great.

Could you imagine one of those being done today? How dull would they be?

Definitely Walker's Way. It was sad when his dog died. :(

It wouldn't be possible these days. Modern games take too long to develop, and they're announced to the public too late in their development cycle.

I liked the Creatures and Lemmings Diaries myself. And that Batman Returns diary where they talked about their holiday was hilarious.

Indeed, there is a developer's diary in Retro Gamer, and unfortunately it is rather boring.

The best was Walker's way and then creatures!

Loved the part about Nylon socks in Walker's way.

Loved the part about mad cow disease in creatures diary.

Daily Llama followed by Birth of a Paradroid.
Jeff Minter´s just the most "human" of the lot and his enthusiasm for not just the game he was working on, but games and music in general gave the segment a nice cozy "glow". I always felt the others were a bit too technical, but the first Braybrook wasn´t that bad.
