Commodore User Issue 0 / pilot

Post by Iain »

Too late for me to add this to the site proper so I'll just post it here for the mo, but I've added the very first issue of Commodore User to the site, it's the issue that noone seemed to know about until a couple of months ago.

Scans of CU issue 0

It's a bit dry (to say the least) but lots of hardware stuff in it.

Somewhere in it, it mentions that the C64 was going to be launched at the 4th Commodore Show in London. Was the C64 only released in the UK in the summer of 1983? There's also an ad for it in the mag for £365, quite a large sum of money back then!

Slight correction there Iain... I'd known about it for quite a long time, just never had found one to buy!

Actually I had, and then the seller changed his mind. This was about 2-3 years ago. The one that came on eBay that Mort won and sold onto me was the first since then I'd seen.

Well, it's pretty rare anyway! Although you'd think a lot of them would have been brought since the offical show guide was part of it.

True... but how many survive? People may well have just dumped them after the show for example.
