giana sisters auction on ebay

Post by Sixteen Plus »

just hunting around for bargains on ebay again and came across the great giana sisters game on cassette, under two and a half hours left so it still isn't quite over, and this must surely hold some sort of record, too high a price for me...at the merrrment the bidding stands at £42.01

now if only i had kept hold of my copy it probably would've been worth much more, despite what the seller says, it should've had the instruction booklet with it as i remember it, so this copy is incomplete.

Actually, if you scroll straight down to near the bottom of the page in the "questions" section, he reports in big red writing!!! that he found the instructions! So it is complete and that should push the price right up!

lol so it does, well just under one hour left on it and we'll know for sure the exact value of it then...nevermind 'the antiques roadshow', it would be pretty cool if the BBC came up with an idea of 'the retro roadshow', i can just imagine someone bringing along a nice SX64 in excellent condition 8)

STOP THE PRESS!

within the last thirty seconds, it quickly shot up to £50.00, then £60.00, then £70.00 and then in the last few seconds it finally ended on £72.00...hows that for a record bid? 8)

i think you just did

although i understand how you must feel right now, i lost my complete C64 collection inc disk drive, accessories, hundreds of games inc great giana sisters all for a measly £20.00 back in 95 lol.

i still don't like to talk about how it actually happened though

It was just the disk though, wasn't it Gordon? I don't recall getting the box from you (which I got elsewhere I'm sure).

Still no clue what a disk of it is worth...

Disk, some instructions, and a box. :) But as I said at the time, I've had loads of favours from people over at YakYak, so I'm happy.

Shall I tell thee a story?

'Twas a dark and stormy day... in summer, when I happened upon a small emporium in a Suffolk town. The shelves were laden with disk and tape, all crying "buy me". And in one corner, low down on a shelf, I spied a real treasure. 'Twas Giana and her sister, all coiled onto a lovely reel of magnetic ribbon. I handed over my five gold coins and left.
