RETRO SURVIVAL - pre-orders open today

Post by Professor Brian Strain »

This one is for all the retro game fanatics here...

RETRO SURVIVAL is available to pre-order from 12pm today.

What is Retro Survival? It's a CD-based magazine featuring articles from the never-released issue 19 of Retro Gamer. The freelance writers from RG have got together to produce this CD, and added new content.

What is on the CD? A great collection of retro gaming articles on all sorts of subjects - an in-depth look at the Vectrex by Mayhem, missing pages from the Def Tribute to ZZAP! 64 that RG published, an interview with Leisure Suit Larry creator Al Lowe, Games That Weren't, Back to the 80's, spoof ads... Many of the regular features are present, along with added video and audio content, plus a great competition.

When is it available? Launch is planned for the 5th November, so the sooner you pre-order the sooner after that date you will get your copy.

How much is it? Cover price is £5 plus P&P

How do I pay for it? Pre-orders can be paid for via NoChex, credit/debit card and PayPal. Cheques will be accepted after the launch date.

Where do I find out more? Visit the website at

Andrew, thanks for your comments on the RG website. Was having a little mischevious moemnt over there and on reflection will get RS as well if it is still available, if for no other reason that benvolence for your unpublished (and unpaid for) work.

Not a big fan of reading on screens etc, do a lot of medical research for my job and most databases and journals are now online and you just can't keep printing out 50-60 pages of a journal or a supplement (recently printed out 200 pages of an arthritis research paper though). That;s why I went for RB in the end, but probably a load of old bollocks when I think about it...

Strange, haven't heard anyone complain about that before. It does access the drive a lot.

By the way, the Retro Survival forum is currently down due to server problems.
