New..pls help...Will a UK C64 machine work in the US?

Post by multiplicity »

Hello.

New to the site and boards, some advice needed please. I'm selling off my C64 and a whole heap of stuff to go with it and a US buyer wants to know if it will work over there, please can someone advise?

I'm gathering that they will need a convertor for the plug on the power supply but will they needs something to adjust the voltage too for the transformer?

Also will there be any problems connecting it to a US tv set?

All advice gratefully received
Many thanks

I'm afraid not. A European C64 uses PAL TV standard, while US TV sets use NTSC. Also voltage is 220V in Europe and 110V in US.

So, unless your buyer has a PAL TV and a 110V power supply, it won't work

Hi Fab, thanks for the information. It's pretty much as I suspected but I just needed confirmation.

Thanks again
