Breaking news! Piracy made Newsfield going out of business!

Post by Lloyd Mangram »

Yup, you got that right.
Breaking news! Piracy made Newsfield going out of business!
According to Bruce Everiss at least (former Imagine big shot).

Read all about ithere!.

Amazing stuff. Best read of 2008 so far. Especially Rev Stu ripping Brucey's 'theories' to shreds.

I wonder what Roger thinks of this 'new insight', eh?

Bruce Everiss explained that Imagine have had to employ a lot of top management experts in recent months to guide the company as it expands. Between these new managers there are a lot of degrees in science, psychology and business management. They know an awful lot about computers and software, but very little about games. To fill in this gap in their experience it seems CRASH Magazine is being used as a ‘training manual’!
Teehee! :D
Once again I emerge from beneath a massive pile of paper which makes my desk groan to bring you the world’s most amazing posts.

Maybe Bruce could have done with some proper management at Imagine, eh?

Bruce would probably argue that years of under production of tapes, boxes, instructions and DVDs have slown down the effects of global warming!

Bruce is the Alan Partridge of games PR - if you don't agree with his views, he just sticks his fingers in his ears and 'la la la'.

Mad article but some interesting comments.

While piracy is / was a big problem I think it gets the blame for a lot of things that aren't its fault
