ZZAP often discussed unusual hardware in its pages. Some existed such as the Sx-64. A lot did`t (remember the amigulator from April 88).What unusual hardware have you all got.Personally I have a SX-64 (looks like a suitcase).Commodore 128D (similar to a Amiga 2000/Desktop PC).Dolphin Dos Fitted 1541/64.An issue 1 64 from 82 (it has a white case and 64 printed by the power light. And Various cartridges such as Action Replays,Freeze Frame etc.

Finally a cry for help has anyone scanned in SX-64 schematics as my internal drive is on its last legs and I would like to refit it with a spare 1541 unit! unless anyone can supply a new spare.

The most unusual hardware i have came across in the zzap 64 & commodore format magazine were modems.

Never did understand what the hell they were, and what this Compunet thing was that Zzap used to go on about... until I got my own modem years later of course!

I never did get a modem and try things out at home on Compunet, couldn't afford it with my pocket money.

Which is a pity, because I did get to try it out at one of the Commodore shows in the mid 80s, that and Partyline. That was an absolute hoot, completely bonkers. That experience stood me in good stead for today's world of IRC and chatrooms...
