Hey there ppl!! was just wondering if there were any die hard fans anywhere near my country, Pakistan that is. C64 was truly global. I miss the good ol days of awesome original games and ZZap. Nostalgia strikes everytime i load up a game on my C64 emulator now. btw.... anybody interested in selling me CDs with the whole collection of digital ZZaps??? otherwise i'll have to use my net connection at work to download them all heheheee that MIGHT get me laid off ;) plzz let me know if anybody got those CDs up for grabs :) mail me at [email protected] |

Well, I'm nowhere near Pakistan, but I'm not in the UK either. I'm from Australia where a hell of a lot of Zzap fan sites sprung from. |

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!!! OI OI OI!!! Ah, the fun of waiting 2 months for Zzap to slowly be shipped from the UK to Australia...of course, the games were 2 months behind the UK too, so it worked out ok :) |

Doh, not near Pakistan aswell, but I'm from Belgium, yeah right :) I really am ;)

Yep, and I'm Dutch, from Holland you know, or the Netherlands , whatever you want. So, there is or was a c64-scene in Pakistan?! A cool c-64 game or zzap-issue is certainly a LOT more fun then hockey or cricket, isn't it? (why didn't anyone think of decent "hockey" simulator anyway?!) |
| genrex |
Hmmm.... you know.... i always thought of THAT too.... why not an 'International Field Hocky' or a 'Field Hocky World cup'??? hehehee anyway i wont say the scene in Pakistan was anywhere near as big as in europe... but there were quite a few die hard fans!!! I remember we used to get our cousins in europe to send us cracked games or we had to empty our pockets to get em through mail package :) anyway.... i sticked with the C64 till the last end... when everybody else was moving t consoles and PCs... in early 90s.... i tried to keep the candle burning.... bringing the ladz new games like outrun europa and mayhem in monsterland.... though my last ever zzap issue was lost somewhere in the mail :( but i just luuurved zzap (u might find some of my letters in rrap!! ) :) |

Gazunta, Yeah, the delays coincided so weren't noticable. Its only in the days of the internet that you start to realise that Australia is the arse end of the world when it comes to software distribution. Even releases by Aussie companies get released 'worldwide', followed by Australia a couple of months later. I've come to release that 'worldwide' means all countries EXCEPT Australia (D2: LOD, Leadfoot, Nascar 4 anyone...) And these companies wonder why Warez is still alive and well! Now I got that off my chest, I feel better! Ahh, for those carefree Zzap64 days :) |

Well, armchair viking from ye olde Norway here. And the C64 was definitely the machine to have around here in its heyday. <sigh> I wish I hadn't been so stupid as to sell mine all those years ago when it was starting to die. I miss playing all those nifty, old games. I miss the feel of the competition pro in my hands... what _is_ it with joysticks these days anyways? I can't seem to find any which are even close to as comfortable and good to use as the old sticks from the C64. -Mimir |
