Kewl, I always liked Red Eye's writing style (from Edge magazine), but I had no idea it was Lloyd from my other favourite magazine of all time ever Zzap!I also thought, from the 'where are they now' post, that it was pretty clear Yossarian was Lloyd.. am I wrong? Oh and Hi! My first post here after stumbling onto the site last week. I was really enjoying reading through the scans.. but it seems that the links are all dead now? (to the .au host)
I'll try again later. Thanks for all the work guys! Much apreciated!

Uh, Lloyd never existed... He was made up by Crash editorial staff and his Zzap persona was controlled by whoever was the editor at the time... |

Looks like you're right about the broken links. Phew, glad I downloaded the lot and dumped it to CD (4 CDs that is) |

ahh.. you sound very convincing, so I wont doubt you.. but Yossarian said: quote: Lloyd Mangram: Has just written a small piece for Edges 100th issue in shops now, folks!
So who was that refering to? I know RedEye wrote a great article on the Back in Time meet.. so therefore Lloyd = RedEye... but we still dont know who Lloyd is?? |

Someone is obviously having an in-joke then because Lloyd is mentioned as a contributor for Edge issue #100... |

The whole Lloyd thing was Newsfield's best-kept secret until the Crash boys spilled the beans. To be honest, after about issue 50 in Zzap!64, it was pretty obvious he didn't exist as 1) his persona suspiciously changed with every change of editor and 2) his persona suspiciously changed to that of the current editor!Like Mayhem said, someone at Edge with a long memory is obviously having a laugh... As for Yossarian, quite a few ex-Zzappers are still in the publishing world, mostly at Future (well, until the axe falls at least), so it could be any number of them... |

And if you don't want to shatter the Lloyd myth entirely, don't go here:http://freehosting1.at.webjump.com/8bd4c7afa/ma/maff-webjump/zzap/noms/noms.htm |

Lloyd is a "contributor" in the "Future of Gaming" article, where 100 leading players in the games field give their views on how things will be when Edge issue #200 is released... |

So did anyone talk to any journalists at Back In Time, then? Obviously, (as mentioned above) Lloyd doesnt exist, and it is Yossarian! (Whoever he is)

CraigG! What have you done! All my dreams shattering one by one.. Not only is Lloyd a persona, but Paul Sumner also!! Thats done it.. just hope I can sleep tonight To try and keep on topic: I just noticed that this 'yossarian' also contributes (if 4 posts is contributing) in the www.edge-online.co.uk forums I started a thread there (in news) hoping to draw a few more clues. |

I must admit that I was fooled by the Paul Sumner thing, but mostly because of the picture of who they based him on! Mind you, I did think it odd that he only appeared from time-to-time and prior to a new person arriving! |
