I always admired Oliver Freys cover images.. so much so that I bound a few of my schoolbooks with Zzap covers (seems like sacriledge now)

Theres no denying the guy was (is) a master.

I wonder how long it used to take him to knock out the cover pics? Pretty quick I'm guessing, because he clearly had time to do a lot of margin doodles, (and for a while Terminal Man)

Id love to see something that Oli may have done in the last few years. Did he keep the same style I wonder?

But anyway, whats your favourite Zzap cover (or Oli pic).. for me its probably issues 3,4,17 and 20

Issue 29 California Games! Top-cover!
(I didn't like all the horror/shock-covers)

My favourites are 1-4,9-11,16 & 18. I likes all the styles but mainly the busy covers like 9 with all the references to Rockford hidden away :-)

Talking about Oli,
I especially DIS-liked the pull out "valentine" poster in issue 35 (march 1988)
I thought it was really a sickening idea at that time, (and still do).
What's your opinion on this one?

hmmm..... cant really name one cover!!! it wont b fair!!! or a bunch for that matter... but i must say... there was a pull out in the later Commodore force days.... with that thinking statue holding a joystick and images of C64 game legendary characters drawn in charcoal... it was colossal!!! it still hangs in my room!!!

Yuck!
WHy?
I also hated the cover of issue 2, I remember a reader writing in telling that it made him think of his sister drinking thru a straw!! Psychos!
Cheers!
