As with the reviews, Anyone who thinks they might want to do a feature for the new Zzap!, just add your name and idea to the end of this post, then we have some idea for page counts. We'll set a deadline of, say, the end of August for people to reply to this. (Yes, I have learned to cut and paste).

btw, if there are no replies by then, we'll just stick with the excellent ideas we've already got.

How about a "Yossarian revealed", by Yossarian? :)

How about an updated 'Where are they now!?!'. but seriously Gordo.... i think we just MAY have to forget that 'model thin' 32 page ish.... there's just tooooo much to tell! maybe if this thing really kicks off well and somebody else suggested, we should also go for ish 108!! :)

We should laso have a top 10 c64 tunes page. Coz half of the games i bought were just to dance to listen to that awesome hubbard tune! remember knucklebusters??? SID has always been one of the strengths of 64, so cant really ignore that.

Also, what are the chances to get any sponsors for our competitions!!! heheehee ok ok i agree its kinda far-fetched!!! ;)

Err, call me stupid (thank you!) but should we actually post all our ideas again, when we already did it at the other subjectheader?
Or do we have to put 'm here, to make the m 'official'?

Hi Biggest Jim

This post is meant to be a focus for people who might not have read the other post -- but if you want to submit your idea(s) again, feel free to do so. ;o)

Here's guys...all the Oli Frey Artwork one
would wish for, in CRASH covers! :

http://www.mjwilson.demon.co.uk/crash/covers.htm

Just pick the piece of artwork you wish, then change it to serve our purpose. (Seasoned zzap! fans will recognize many of these covers used by ZZAP! for various purposes in the past...)

But all the Zzap covers are here on this site (or at least linked)

I've posted this before, but here's an idea...

An article of past and present C64 composers would surely grab my attention guys! You could ask Chris Abbott (http://www.c64audio.com/) or Warren Pilkington (http://home.freeuk.net/wazzaw/HVSC/) to do such thing...

Keep up the work, I actually can't believe something like this is happening!

Cheers,
/Matt

@Bazza
We cannot use ZZAP! covers for the new ZZAP!,
that's why I'm pointing to the CRASH! covers
some of which were used as ZZAP! covers as
well. We only have to pick one and superimpose the ZZAP! logo and our 'headlines' over it so the lettering on the Crash! cover is completely covered.

@All

The last Zzap!backed issue was issue 23, so
these are the hot games of issue 24:
Gunship, Microprose 94%
Firetrack, Electronic Dreams 88%
Aliens, Electronic Dreams 81%

Also, there's Delta which was awarded 74%. We could include ith if we disagree with the review and want to correct an injustice... The problem with Delta was that other magazines, for example Commodore User, gave it very high marks, while ZZAP! gave it 74% dispite being a Newsfield mag and Thalamus being a Newsfield label. BTW, did you heard any explanation for this Gordon?

(from memory), wasn't it that Jaz hated it, for the perfectly valid reasons that, certainly at the beginning, you have no choice but to play the game a certain way? It also punishes you severely for failure later on...

Yeah, I agree on that one, Gordon (I mean the Delta-thing)
Delta was quite frustrating. But still a sizzler though, in my humble (!?) opinion.
Issue 24 isn't a very HOT issue to zzap-back, why can't we pick one with more interesting games? Issues 28 to 33 are quite nifty!
G'night,
ROb

What about a review from the "real" Paul Sumner aka Dominic Handy.

@ Biggest Jim

Because the next one in line is issue 24, that's why! ZZAP! never jumped issues when zzap!backing.

Hi, here are my ideas on some features I would like to see in the 'ZZAP-BACK' issue:

1. I do not know if it is technically possible, but what about an on-line ZZAP challenge (using emulators) done and reported? Other issues as to whom vs. whom on what game can be decided later if it is at all possible.

2. what about an article on the international popularity of ZZAP..people from different areas around the globe can chip in telling how popular C-64 and zzap was in their region. I can contribute on this one..having spent the ZZAP years in Karachi, Pakistan.

3. there should be an ultimate survey of all the ZZAPers we can get to on to vote for the best of zzap and c-64, overall games, tunes, graphics, reviewers etc. etc. also your most disagreed rating (as i see people mentioning delta)

4.Why not do a complimentary review of an Amiga and/or PC game, or just one multiformat review?..and compare how playability may (or may not) differ from machine to machine.

Idea #2 sounds like a definate winner!

It would be very interesting checking out the popularity of Zzap in other regions of the world.

I'd like to see a feature akin to the old 'that was the year that was' catching up on the missing years' high & lowlights. Or, looking at the best & worst releases for each year Zzap! was in circulation. Also a what are they doing now article would be a must. How about getting a few old faces together for a challenge of some sort???
CraigG posted 31-08-2001 03:57 PM GMT     Click Here to See the Profile for CraigG  Click Here to Email CraigG
The thing is, the 'best and worst' of each year was totally done to death in the last six or so issues of Commodore Force. Such an article would just be retreading the same old ground again.

As for old faces and a challenge, it remains to be seen how many of the 'old gang' will be helping out, but you never know.

How about a 'Which c64 classics are crying out to be updated for modern machines?'

I've heard that International Karate is being converted to Gameboy advance, but what other games are a must? My vote goes to Paradroid, I know that Braybrook released Paradroid '90 on the ST and Amiga, but it wasn't a patch on the original (due to slow speed and the ST-inflicted virtical scrolling only). Just imagine a version of Paradroid for the modern-day machines...

Oh man!! Just reading back through this thread, I saw a mention of Firetrack! I loved this game!! One of my best ever 2.99 purchases, and now I've found it for CCS64 too, fantastic. I think the only reason it didn't get a Sizzler was because it doesn't feature extra weapons, but if anyone liked Star Force in the arcades, then Firetrack is the game for you!
