As I have scanned every conceivable issue of ZZap, who would like me to scan in Crash, Iain has preliminarily agreed for a few early issues to go up. I would like to get a bit of feedback.

Cheers Mort

Wow, Mort.
We should raise a statue for all your hard labour!
Although I'm not interested in Spectrum-software itself, it would be awesome to actually be able to go back to the most deeply rooted zzap-roots!!
So, I think it's a great idea.
But hey, can we accept your offer,
making you sacrifice your private-life, and just download it all? :>)

Btw, I'm still waiting for the last issue, stop the teasing! ;)

DO IT !!
i had every issue of Crash and Zzap until one horrible day in 1995 when, due to lack of space, my dad convinced me to ... to .... (i cant say it) ... to BIN THEM !! *sob* (i had just moved back in with over 12 years worth of magazines and computers and diving gear and ... well, lots of stuff, so i could see his point ... although i couldnt see him, due to the pile of magazines)
i miss my Crash :~o(

Hell, yes!! I used to play on my friends' Spectrums before I got my C64, and I did enjoy reading Crash once in a while. So if you've got the time (and if all ZZAP!s are done, you probably will have), then go for it!!

I think that was a resounding thumbs up. What we may do is put a link to Crash Via the ZZap main page, it is really up to Iain now.

I have scanned in a few odds and ends so expect to see a few issues appear sometime in the next month.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I just wish somebody had already copied the ZZap idea to save my poor scanner :-p

Weird!...Great minds think alike, as I was
gonna post a new topic the other day, asking
if anyone would do a CRASH site, in the style
of this one - There's not really many decent
Speccy/CRASH sites around apart from
WORLD OF SPECTRUM.
Go for it!!

WOW, this would be fantastic. I too was forced in to ditching my Crash collection, and I can honestly say without a doubt. Crash was the best computer mag ever. I have at sometime or another owned every computer from the jupitor ace (pre zx80) to my current PC and along with these bought every mag including console and C&VG mags that supports each computer/console. I can say with my hand on my heart that I looked forward to the next edition of Crash more than any mag past or present. If you could make these great great mags available, just like you have done with the excellent Zapp editions, it would fill a great big empty gap in my life. I look back on the eighties with a fondness I find hard to find anywhere these days, and Crash/Zapp were highlights of these times. Thank you for all your efforts, It's amazing how much impact you can have through the internet, and all your hardwork is so, so much appreciated.

Thanks

JL

I'm gonna try and find my Crash collection. I KNOW it's here somewhere...

But yeah. I owned a Speccy and a C64 and both mags were just fantastic. Can't explain why the humour or the style was so good but there just aren't mags like them these days. They all seem to be too serious or just for kids. I don't get it at all.

I never owned a Spectrum but I played on many games on systems my mates used to own. I think that would be a fantastic idea to scan Crash.. im hoping that someone will scan some other magazines from the past also, such as 'Your Computer' and 'Computer and Video Games' i remeber typing out listings from some of those mags and id love to see them again.. that would be pure nostalgia.. WOO! HOO!
