Here's the latest email I got from the printers. " 1)CMYK would be best but PDF's in RGB should be alright. The colours may not be as accurate.Whoever produces the artwork should be able to convert to CMYK before creating the PDF. 2)The prices do not include VAT 3)36pp 100 copies 695 " Vat is 17.5% in Britian I believe so that would be 8.16 printing costs per issue (assuming we get over 100 orders) other wise it would be 12.45 basic, which I think is rather over the top. Can we get over 100 orders for around 10? I can set up the Credit card thing and wait and see I guess? Although at this outlay, I think I'd have to charge the credit cards after we get enough orders but before I ship out the mags as I don't have 900 to spare at the mo!! |

I'd be willing to pay that much. Not sure how much I'd need to add for shipping to Australia, though. |

Count me in! Rob |

Yeah, I'd need mine shipped to the US, but I'd definitely be up for a copy. It's history, man!!! |

"Whoever produces the artwork should be able to convert to CMYK before creating the PDF." Not easily and not quickly, as I never thought we'd be needing a CMYK version. I'm not sure what an automatic RGB->CMYK conversion would do in InDesign. In terms of drumming up support, [email protected] said he'd be happy to run an ad for the printed Zzap!64. I agree that the best bet would be to set up a CC ordering thing, and say this will be a once-only limited run. I'm sure 100 orders will easily be filled. One thought: there may have to be a limit on how many Issues an individual can order... |

Definitely be interested... |

I would also be interested as it would be a lot better quality than the lasercopy from work :-) Plus Iain any news on the T shirt idea? |
| CraigG |
How about this for a T-Shirt idea: The front page of Zzap!64 #107? I have the artwork as a 300DPI Photoshop file and can easily convert that to any format (CMYK or RGB), and it would only contain the Zzap!64 logo and Oli pic. Erm, I'm emigrating in a few weeks, so I won't be able to do any legwork, but I can fling a CDR at someone with the file on if they want to do this. |

Why limited the amount of issues a person can order? Once the total amount for everybody is over 100. If I get enough orders for 1000, that's no problem! |

Well I think I'll do it anyway. There's nothing to lose, if we don't get >100 orders that's that. Anybody fancy coming up with a banner to display on Lemon and other sites? Basicaly something along the lines of own a professionally printed copy of the latest version of Zzap... Thoughts? |
| Gribbly |
Yep! I'm in for it and would buy it at either price. What is the URL for the payment? |
| Gordon |
Iain, Let me know when they are for sale, and I'll put a banner ad/link on my Zzap! pages. G. Nice idea to have a "selected book" panel on the main site, btw :) |
| iain |
Thought it might be nice, when the site is fully cgi (well the main page anyway) it'll randomly display a book from the DB. And worry not, I've got the details for your book from Amazon, so that'll appearing up there shorty! :) Seems you can't get the Dinner Party from Amazon anymore though. :( |

>so that'll appearing up there shorty!< Hey! How did you know I was short? :) >Seems you can't get the Dinner Party from Amazon anymore though. :( < No, the publisher went bust -- anyone who wants a more detailed explanation can click on the "Buy it" icon on my TDP page ;) http://www.the-burrow.freeserve.co.uk/novels/thedinnerparty.html G. |

Iain--seeing as I have all the original artwork, I'll sort a banner out next week at some point. C |

Thanks Craig! All I've got left to do before putting the for sale link is price the cost of envelopes! :) Considering the cost of printing, I think I should go for a strong envelope with a bit of cardboard in it. |

count me in. |
| Gazunta |
Iain - Definitely count me in for a copy or two. How about setting up a Paypal thing as well? You can accept cc payments through that too. And I'll definitely run the banner ad on gazunta.com so please mail me that, Craig :) |
