Question here for Mort (or anyone else that has the CDs) before I make a purchase. I'm using an Apple Mac, and wondering if the CDs contain image files, or some kind of executable program where the pages are embedded.

The images are in standard Jpg format with a standard pc viewer thrown in, so any Mac application should be able to view them (I like to keep things simple :-) ).

Thanks for the interest

Mort :-)

If you're using OS X, simply select and dump a whole bunch of the JPEGs onto Preview, and learn the key shortcuts for things like previous/next and zooming. This should enable you to explore them rapidly. If using a pre-OS X system, iView multimedia viewer is a good choice.

I bought the CDs and been going through them slowly. I have problem with the files on Issues 29, 51, and 56.

Can anyone put these files some place to download please?

I've emailed Iain about it, but thought I'd post a message here as well!
Cheers
Shubba

I'll forward the pages that he had a problem with. My CD1 seems a bit dodgy as well. I can't copy it. Must get another off you next week! :)

Cheers to both Iain, and Mort.

I contacted Mort after he posted the message on this forum. It was offered for me to send my address for a replacement CD. I explained that there was really no need, and that I would be fine with them being emailed.

Within a few hours, I get a 2Mb ZIP file with all the files that I have missing.

Genius.

Thank you again for my lovely Zzap CDs.

Hi there,

Like Shubba I am also a Mac user (running OS9) and I've been unknowingly lurking away here for quite a while now, reading all the old Zzap stuff. I didn't realise there was also a message board here! I would be really interested in the CD's that you produce Mort. Do they contain everything? I especially love all the features and things as well as the reviews.

I started off with a 64, then moved onto an Amiga, never fraternise in a sexual sense with a PC, and finally got a Mac a couple of years ago. I still have my old Amiga, which is a G reg. And although it has a dodgy power connection, I can apparently fix that with a bit of soldering and get it running tip top, which is great because some months ago I picked up some old Amiga games from a car boot sale; including Xenon II!! I've been looking for that for ages, and Battle Chess.

To be able to access Zzap straight from CD would be grand, as some years ago I succumbed and threw out my extensive collection of old computer mags and I still rue that decision.
