We all must have completed a game and been either UTTERLY gutted at the poor end game screen or TOTALLY amazed at the time and thought the programmers had put in to making a great end game screen ( ok, the last one is a rarity I admit ) But what is the BEST end game screen ever? The most diappointing one`s stay in your mind sometime ( remember the psygnosis games such as Shadow of the beast with great intro`s on the Amiga and then ended with a simple congratulations on the back of a black screen! ) For me, the one that stays in my mind is Navy Moves, pretty shit game, apart from the flame thrower on the last level! It ended with him landing on a desert island with topless hula dancers and chading them off! It had a bit of thought in it! I really can`t think of any others that stand out, but I`m sure you guys can!

Thinking about it, I can't remember completing MUCH of the games I played. I can remember winning the double (for the ..th time) with football manager: YOU"VE WON THE FA CUP!!!!! I liked that...er..but that's not really an ending. Reaching freedom in Head over Heels with only one or two crowns was pretty cool too. Getting the cup from the 'princess type of girl' in International Soccer was pretty nifty. I remember playing loads a games without ending them, but loving them to death, like Dan Dare. I never got past the green-meany in the end (FRUSTRAAAAAATION) but I didn't mind playing the whole game again, since I liked it so much. Btw, I loved the final ranking part of the games-series from EPYX, while the tune went to a climax, and you're name & medals were displayed on top, and than the fireworks, sooo coooool. I started completing games on the consoles, loving the ending-films of the roadrash series , luuurved the (even multiple) endings from RPG's like Secret of Mana & Chrono Trigger (on snes)They really made me feel happy. Did anyone ever complete SKOOLDAZE? What's happens when you complete it? (I love that game, but can't seem to hit all those stupid switches) CheersRob de V. |

School Daze - great game - shit end screen I`m afraid. After getting all the shields you had to answer some history questions and you got a number off each teacher - if I remember correctly - you then had to go to the safe with the numbers you collected from the teachers and open it - THEN you had to turn all the shields OFF - THEN ( phew! ) you get a crap message saying wow and the next day starts - hence starting the game all over again. I heard the end screen on Target Renegade is GREAT, but never managed to do it - even the hacked emulator version crashes on mine! One of the games which had a great end game screen and was a TOTAL JOY to play from start to finish was Wings from cinemarware - most of their games had decent end screens to be fair, although I never completed Rocket Ranger - DAMN I wanted to complete that game! I always wanted to know if anybody ever made it into the Pleasure Dome on the Frankie game? Was their an end screen to it? |
