I thing Kickstarter is the kind of thing you like, if you like that kind of thing... No, hang on, that's not helpful, is it?
I find some of the amounts asked for ridiculous; and sometimes it feels like people are asking for extra cash for something they've already done... So I understand the cynicism.
However, the fact that there's going to be a new game in the Planescape Torment world is very, very pleasing.
There are definitely some that are, shall we say, stretching the boundaries of goodwill. But I've backed a good number of projects that have been worthy and interesting to me, from little fellas up to the giant Wasteland 2 and Double Fine Adventure efforts. It does, as you say, depend a lot on what you like.
