For anyone reading this who doesn't already know, the "tfyatdt" refers to one of Iain's other sites: http://www.theyfuckyouatthedrivethru.com
Iain,
I've just read your rather interesting No Logo-inspired article on tfyatdt, and wondered if you could recommend any similar books? I've already read:
No Logo (Naomi Klein)
Fences and Windows (NK)
Fast Food Nation (Eric Schlosser?)
Stupid White Men (Michael Moore)
Culture Jam (Kalle Lasn)
Anything else you, or anyone else, can suggest? Has anyone read anything about the Zapatistas, for example? Is George Monbiot worth a look?

Hmmm, there are lots of interesting reads on the subject, but nothing I can think of right now.
A good one is "L'illusione umanitaria", published in Italy by Editrice Missionaria Italiana in 2001, and written by a bunch of people (Deriu, Cavalieri, Tosolini, Caligaris, Squarcina, Grossi) from an association called AlfaZeta. It is subtitled "the trap of the humanitarian aid and the prospects of international solidarity). Alas, I'm afraid it's not translated in English yet.

My top games: 1.Hawkeye, 2.Delta, 3.Creatures 2, 4.Armalyte, 5.Bubble Bobble, 6.Uridium, 7.Ikari Warriors, 8.Bionic Commando, 9.Buggy Boy, 10.Archon.
George does seem an interesting author, I have "Captive State" by him but havn't gotten around to reading it yet.
Not quite related but does cover an economic / social sphere, is a book called "Why We Buy" by Paco Underhill. I just read this recently and it was a very interesting read. Discover how the capitalist pigs plan and monitor your every move!
Links: just to save you typing the titles on Amazon! :-p

Thanks, Iain -- I've just checked them out, and they look like my kind of thing, particularly the Why We Buy book -- which, ironically or not, I'll be buying. (Though in my case it should be Why I Buy Fuck All.) I've added both to my Amazon basket, so some happy reading lies ahead. Cheers.iain wrote:Captive State

At the risk of sounding like I'm answering my own question, it's worth noting here for anyone else reading this that Adbusters is well worth a visit: http://www.adbusters.org/home/
